OedipSystem integrated solutions enable you to interface any standard
paper form with any computerized application. The process used to integrate
handwritten data into your information system is thus completely automated
whilst still allowing users to work as naturally as possible: with a pen
and paper.
Capture. Using
a digital pen, the user fills out a form that is pre-printed on digital
paper. He/she uses the pen in exactly the same way that he/she would use
any standard ballpoint pen, and to fill out the form, all the user needs
to do is to follow the usual instructions: pay attention to each area
and write legibly!
Depending on the model of digital pen that is used, handwritten data
is sent by inserting the pen into a base that is connected to a PC's USB
port or by using a GPRS mobile phone and transmitting data via a Bluetooth
connection. In this case, the data may be sent directly to a remote server.
Interpretation. On
either the PC or the server, the OedipSystem software automatically converts
the information that is collected on the form into structured digital data
using an XML format. This is possible thanks to the powerful built-in handwriting
recognition engine.
The OedipSystem software can also generate an image file (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF)
displaying the source document in order to facilitate its storage.
Validation. To
ensure that source data match their digital translation perfectly, the OedipSystem
software offers a user-friendly interface for editing and validating the
results of the handwriting recognition process.
This validation step can take place immediately after the data is entered or
later, using a set of remote operators. If necessary, it is possible to update
complementary functions such as document indexing and plausibility controls for
information that has been entered.
Integration.Thanks
to a set of connectors that are compatible with most existing management
platforms, the information that is collected with OedipSystem can enhance
your information system on an ongoing basis.
